There is nothing I hate more than examining my face after a long day’s work to find my nose covered in tiny blackheads, staring back at me like, “What? You think you can ever be rid of us?!”
My first instinct is to squeeze them out with the fury of a thousand suns, but blackhead extraction doesn’t work for all blackheads. Some are ripe for the picking but others? Yea, they’ll struggle, and any attempts to force them out can result in a lot of irritation and even scarring. No thanks.
Luckily, there are a billion and one blackhead products out there. My favorites? Korean skin care products that gently draw out blackheads. You see, when it comes to getting rid of blackheads and achieving perfect, translucent skin, the Koreans aren’t messing around!
Over the years, they’ve come out with some of the best blackhead products on the market and some are as fun to use as they are effective. Wondering what they are? Here are my top six picks!
Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask
- Black Head Removal exfoliating pores pack
- Made In South Korea
This clay mask deep cleans your skin, removes blackheads, and leaves you feeling fresh. More than anything it’s FUN, because who doesn’t love bubbles?
The main ingredient in this mask is charcoal powder, which has the ability to absorb impurities. In fact, doctors have used activated charcoal for ages in cases of alcohol or drug poisoning, because charcoal is able to combine with impure particles before they get absorbed into your bloodstream.
Charcoal works on your skin in the same way, gently yet effectively soaking up and drawing impurities like blackheads out of your pores.
You can use this mask in one of two ways. First, use it as a one-step cleanser. Apply the mask directly to your face without cleansing first (a spatula is provided for easy application), let it sit on your face until it bubbles, then gently scrub your skin with it, and wash it off.
The second way to use it is as a mask after your cleansing routine. Wash your face first and then follow the next steps. This clay mask feels amazing because it bubbles on your skin. It feels a bit like a tingly massage. All skin types can use this mask, and it’s especially great for oily skin because of its exfoliating properties.
Use it once or twice a week depending on your skin type. I use mine only once a week because my skin is extra sensitive and does not thank me for excessive product use.
Pro tip: remember that this product bubbles, so don’t apply it too close to sensitive areas like your nostrils, eyes, or mouth. Oh, and be prepared to laugh – it’s pretty ticklish.
Tony Moly Egg Pore Blackhead Steam Balm and Tightening Cooling Pack
- Egg Pore Silky Smooth Balm
- Egg Pore Blackhead Steam Balm
- Egg Pore Tightening Cooling Pack
This set takes care of your pores in a three-step process. The Blackhead Steam Balm is a deep cleanser that draws impurities and blackheads out from your skin. The main ingredients in this product are charcoal powder, vitamin E, egg shell powder, and egg yolk extract. Charcoal powder acts as the absorbing agent to draw out dirt, while the vitamin E and egg yolk leave your skin feeling hydrated.
To use, apply it directly onto areas where you have blackheads and let it sit for 30 seconds to two minutes. Decide how long you want it to sit based on how sensitive your skin usually is to products. This product works especially well on superficial blackheads.
Next, follow it up with Tony Moly’s Egg Pore Tightening Cooling Pack, which is made up of camellia flower extract, bentonite, and kaolin clay. It’s great for oily skin because it tightens pores, reduces oiliness, and leaves your skin feeling cool. The clay in this product also works as an absorbing agent to gently draw stubborn blackheads out.
Lastly, there’s the balm, which you use like a primer before makeup. It hides big pores, fine lines, and scars to make your skin look super smooth and clear. It does an amazing job of smoothing out your skin, helping your makeup go on flawlessly. In addition, it contains Camellia Flower Extract and Skin Growth Complex to promote cell turnover, tighten skin, and control excess sebum throughout your day!
All three products in this set are awesome because they work (I can usually see immediate effects), and they do especially well together. Each one serves a slightly different role for the overall elimination of blackheads and to hide the gaping pores after your blackheads are gone. The packaging is a major draw for me too – you gotta admit the eggs are pretty darn cute!
COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid
- With Betaine Salicylate, natural BHA ingredients, It strengthen both skin-safety and effect
- It made with White Willow bark water to strengthen both skin-safety and effect
- Free of paraben, artificial colorant, artificial fragrance, triethanolamine and phthalein
Your first line of defense against blackheads is your daily toner. This is pretty obvious when you think about it. Whereas face wash only stays on your face for a minute or so, your toner stays on your skin all day. Plus, it’s the first thing you pat onto your skin after each wash.
So doesn’t it just make sense to take advantage of this valuable opportunity to squash blackheads before they ever rear their ugly heads?
The perfect toner to do that with? Hands down, it’s COSRX's BHA Blackhead Power Liquid. It’s every bit as potent against blackheads as it sounds, with natural beta hydroxy acids from white willow bark. The best part? It’s tough against blackheads while being gentle on your skin, and it won’t dry you out.
Holika Holika Pig Nose Clear Black Head 3-Step Kit
- This is a 3-steps kit perfect for pore control.
- The first step opens your pores which allow for removing blackheads easily.
- The second step removes blackheads.
This is a three step process that works wonders on pesky blackheads. The first step opens up your pores, the second step removes blackheads, and the third step closes your pores up again, minimizing them.
Here’s what to expect:
Step 1: The first step is to apply a sticky mask strip over your nose for 20 minutes. You may feel a little burning sensation at first, because this is the step that opens up your pores.
Step 2: This is another mask strip for the nose. First wipe off any remaining residue from the first strip, then place the second strip on your nose. Leave it on for 15 minutes, then peel it off. It will remove any impurities you have from your nose.
Step 3: This is the cooling strip that is meant to soothe your skin and close your pores, and that’s exactly what it does. I don’t love the smell, but it feels great after the first two packs.
This handy little three-step process really works. My nose felt refreshed and was blackhead free after I used it. It’s a bit more time consuming than I usually like my products to be, so I only use this once in awhile. Though you could just multitask while it’s on. I did some yoga between masks! Again, the packaging of this product just gets me. There’s a pig on the packet that rids itself of its dots after following the three steps. I figure if it worked for the pig, it’ll probably work for me too.

This anti-pore blackhead removing kit from CNP Laboratory is comprised of witch hazel water, sage extract, peppermint extract, and zinc PCA. The kit needs to be used in three steps and is made up of two nose packs.
Step 1: The first nose pack is the blackhead clearing pore strip. Apply the strip onto your nose and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. After that, peel the strip off gently. You will notice that the mask has brought excess sebum and blackheads to the surface.
Step 2: In the kit you will also find some black cotton swabs. These are provided so you can sweep the blackheads and sebum away. Use these in the second step to clear your nose of all that gunk.
Step 3: The second nose strip is the pore tightening mask. In step 3, place this mask over your nose and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. I usually wash the residue off after I’m done because the mask is quite sticky.
Use this mask once a week. It’s suitable for all skin types and works miracles on stubborn blackheads.

Let the scrub sit for five minutes, then wash it off. You’ll notice that your skin feels smoother and more radiant. That’s because of the plant oils in the scrub and because a layer of dead skin has been removed.
